Excellent breakfast!!
Is very good..
We were on our way to Starbucks when we saw this adorable restaurant. It has been raining so they weren't serving outside. However when the owner saw that we had our little dog with us he immediately set us up on the patio. He was so gracious! The menu was amazing and it took a long time to narrow our choices. My daughter had Huevos Rancheros and I had ham and eggs. My potatoes were crisp and my eggs perfect. Hers included beautiful fresh tomatoes and green onions, and had just the right amount of spice. They also brought us homemade raspberry preserves and yummy green salsa.
I love this place .... Never a disappointment ever in 20 + years
Amazing service great decor wonderful food
No wonder this place has such a high rating.Funky, eclectic decoration, great food (❤️ the buckwheat pancakes and the mocha).Awesome service, they pay attention to the small details and are all super friendly. Bummer it’s not close by ...
Great menu. Waffles are on point. Salmon scramble had very good portions of salmon. Burgers and fries were old fashioned and delicious. REAL maple syrup! Thick sourdough toast! Very sunny, big windows! Outside seating available. Nostalgic decor with classic photos and advertisements. Fun place.
Cool retro Cafe. Nice staff and quick service. Food was decent and vibe is cool.
Great food, great service!
Wonderful to eat at every time
Cool place with antiques from 50s. Nice little foyer for waiting. I ordered huevos rancheros, bene on fire. Bene on fire was good. The house potatoes are nice and well toasted. The huevos were very tomatoey and runny. Didn't quite like it. I am used to Mexican style huevos with beans and scrambled eggs on the tortilla so this didn't match my expectations. The service was alright.
Had the banana stuffed pancakes. They were wonderfully delicious.
Dined here one morning on our way to a golfing tournament... Awesome Breakfast! -Thanks
Delightful decor for a hustle of a morning! This place is the breakfast spot in town. The line is worth it. Plan to wait 30 minutes. Come with a group of 8 or just by yourself!I tried their famous scone, served with a lemon sauce. Perfectly crumbly, and totally messy. I also got their homemade granola with soy milk and let it sit to soak up the soy and get soft. Delicious. Matt got a breakfast omelet with cheddar, bacon and avocado.Real maple syrup is on the tables along with salsas. Those details matter! Free coffee refills and the servers are on it, never had a cold cup.Credit cards accepted here. The decor feels like you stepped through a time machine. They even have a little display full of antique items when you walk in - juke box, old cameras and cooking ware.
Good food with big portions! Super friendly staff, 5star customer service!
First time here met up with our friends and they had been here in the past. Seems that the place was quite popular but less expensive back then. I had looked online so I knew what to expect from the menu. The eggs Benedict were alright. My muffins were pretty hard underneath the hollandaise sauce. I think the one pancake I ordered could have been fluffier. Chicken and waffles were not all that great. Batter on chicken was falling off the chicken,o so it wasn't a hit. But maybe we will try the place again.
Super homey and delicious breakfast foods. The pancakes were so good and the bowl too. I highly reccomend this place.
Food is good, but somehow feels like it should be better. Staff is great! Food is slow.
It was okay. The raspberry table jam was excellent and the latte was beautiful. The service was blah. Everyone seems to be wearing whatever street clothes they want so it's hard to tell who works there. Which is a bit alarming when someone comes to take your bill and payment, but you're not sure if it's an employee or someone you should be running after. Most of the staff is a bit slow in comparison to a traditional diner. Some seem to just mosey along without a sense of urgency to seat you or check on tables frequently. The food was okay, too greasy to finish, but other people seemed to enjoy it.
Great breakfast, walking distance from the house and my band played here once back in the 80s.
Royal Cafe has consistently good food, service and a clean yet retro decor. The service is always spot on, it is like the can see the level in my coffee cup. Good homemade sausage, no nitrates. Love their homemade salsa. Small parking lot, which can be challenging but personally the food and service are worth it. I try to avoid this place on the weekends due to the crowds, though they move fairly fast.
Diner / Cafe serving Breakfast / Brunch / Lunch reasonable prices and tasty meals
Love this quirky, fun place! Breakfast scrumptious, too
Great location, great staff, great food! We ordered the chicken and waffles and cinnamon French toast. Both highly recommended!
Great place for breakfast! It can get pretty busy, because their food is great! The oatmeal is good as well as the eggs Benedict. The decor is fun - it’s almost a must-see place... Sometimes, it’s too cold and drafty inside though. And there can be quite a long wait on weekends.
Very good scrambled eggs and home fried potatoes. Sounds easy, but it's not! Great high quality bread options too, including scones, muffins, etc. and good plentiful coffee. Very friendly service.
Love their banana coconut pancakes and spicy benedict!
One of my favorite places for brunch! outstanding food, and friendly staff. i recommend the Eggs Blackstone!
HGreat food and service. I really like all of the antiques all over the walls. Fun
Really good food. Great breakfast food. A unique and fun atmosphere. Always busy but the wait is usually less than 20 minutes. Generally good to very good service. Parking is a serious challenge.
Great breakfast spot. Really good service. The food was tasty. This was my second visit. I'll be back.
So I went there with a couple of people. The servers were kind and the food was great.
Best huevos rancheros I've ever had at a restaurant!!
Not pictured: their salmon Benedict because I ate it too fast!!!Amazing home fries and quality food!! And their diner coffee was surprisingly great!
Best brunch in East Bay. The food are delicious and portions are huge. The fresh orange juice is one of my favorite drink.
Love this place. Crowded on weekends, but staff is very nice and food is good.
Just ok omelettes, not too flavorful. Acme toast a bit stale. Service, however, was very good.
Love royal one of my go to's previous rating was a clearly accidental.....
I adore this venue a lot. theres a great mood. The food is marvelous. the service is effective and the crew is friendly. The pay is modest. profoundly recommend.
Love the atmosphere and the banana pancakes are amazing!
Great brunch place. Family run business that makes great food.
Very nice ambience, will definitely go again. Very delicious breakfast place.
Fantastic chicken and waffles. Their italian sausage scramble was also good. Love their retro vintage decor.
I have been going here since 1989. Charming diner. fun golf statue inside under the dome.
One of my favourite places to have breakfast or brunch.
The omelette I had yesterday didn't please me as much as usual -- the egg part was too thick. Great service, as aways!
Great food and service. They close at 2 and out of muffins and scones usually by 1pm.
Food is great and the service fast and efficient. Wish it was in a different part of town.....
I have been coming here for over 30 years. Consistent good breakfast, faire trade coffee & they even serve raisin toast & scones. Clean restrooms. If the small parking lot is full you can find street parking along SP Ave or around corner of bank.
Notes: Busy on the weekends Private lot (free) and street parking Casual attire Welcoming and friendly staff Credit card accepted Most popular item scone with lemon curd House made items: Green salsa, smoked bacon, and smoked salmon. Fresh squeezed OJ
Consistently great breakfast, year after year!
Great place for breakfast/brunch. You have to try the scone with lemon curd, available as a toast alternative with many of the breakfast entrees.
